Common questions

Where do the books come from?

Quill reads any PDF or EPUB you own. Search the built-in sources for free public-domain titles (Project Gutenberg and the Internet Archive's public scans), import your own files from Files, or send a book to Quill from Apple Books, Kindle, or Mail using the Share sheet → Quill.

I subscribed to Pro but it shows Free.

Open Quill → Today → Settings → Plans & pricing → Restore purchases. Pro is tied to your Apple Account; restoring re-checks it. Pro also keeps working offline for up to 35 days between checks, so a temporary connection drop won't lock you out.

How do I read on a second device?

Quill Pro syncs across your personal devices and includes a second account to share with a partner or kid. Sign in with the same Apple Account on each device. Free (guest) mode stays local to one device by design.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open the Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Quill → Cancel. Your Pro features stay active until the end of the current period.

Is my reading private?

Yes. Your library and notes live on your device. Guest mode sends nothing to our servers. AI features are off by default and, when enabled, talk directly to the provider you configured — we never see your prompts. See the Privacy Policy.
